Writing Guidelines

At this point in time our article submission opportunities apply to professionals who are working in Canada and the U.S., except in cases where specialized services are not available. We ask that you meet the following:

Health Professionals
  • Mental Health Professionals (drugs and alcohol, addictions, counselling/psychology...)
  • Brain Health and Injury Specialists/Researchers
  • Parenting Experts
  • Child Development Professionals
  • Sports Injury Specialists
  • Medical researchers, university faculty who can contribute information regarding medical advances in the recognition and treatments of childhood conditions
  • Specialists in the following childhood conditions; ADD, ADHD, Aspergers Disorder, Tourette's Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, Other Learning Disabilities, Environmental Illness, Asthma, Obesity, Diabetes, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome etc.
  • Naturopathy
  • Chiropractic
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture
  • Massage Therapy
  • Dietician
  • Art, Music, Dance, Movement therapies
  • Other health professionals not listed above who also meet the above outlined requirements

For web readability and user friendliness:
  • Prevention Solutions (Core menu) articles only: For highest user friendliness and loyalty: include age-specific customization according to child development and communication strategies wherever possible according to your own knowledge and training. If your chosen topic applies to two or three of our age categories we suggest a customized paragaph entitled: Parenting Tips (or Strategies) for Your Older Child/Pre-Teen/Teenager”. FYI: ages for each are: older child 6-8, pre-teen 9-12, teenager 13-19+.
  • Health Info articles (left menu educational), are for all ages except for Child Development...see our topics wish list.
  • Previously published articles, fairly recent and current, are welcome though age-customized and original articles are preferred.
  • Word count: 600 to 2,000 (MS Word has a word count feature under the Tools menu)
  • Short one-concept paragraphs: max three or four sentences
  • Contain a main heading, sub headings, and bullet form listings where applicable
  • Grade 10 reading level
  • Current – please maintain relevancy by providing ongoing updates
  • Substantiated and referenced where appropriate
