Motivating earlier action towards abuse and addiction prevention and treatment.
Keynotes, Workshops, Lunch or Dinner Meetings
Providing for Diversified Audiences: Community/Corporate
Core Content for Most Presentations:
A PowerPoint presentation beginning with the ultimate demise of the young adult, Ryan, (no disturbing photos) followed by an honest examination of his life as a beautiful baby, seemingly happy little boy, and physically strong, attractive, popular adolescent.
1) What were the impacts of drugs and alcohol (including ecstasy and crystal meth) on Ryan? His family? A description of Ryan's decent into the drug culture assisting understanding of how this happens, even to those more advantaged than Ryan, according to RCMP reports.
"We've all done our best!" emphasis designed to dissipate shame and blame, encourage greater compassion, reduce isolation – increase empowerment.
2) What forces of impact contributed to Ryan's, and others, 'choice' to use drugs and alcohol? Includes many commonly and uncommonly recognized risk factors and their resulting vulnerabilities for a deeper and broader understanding, providing increased empowerment for earlier prevention and intervention.
Gentle reminders that no one is to blame, as memories may be triggered for some, and awareness is the first tool to healing.
3) What Resources are available? Customized according to the needs and perspectives of those present (specific to your group and locaton given advance consultation).
