Letters to Kerry

Stories of Victory, Struggle, Tragedy, & Workplace Concerns

January 23, 2007:

Hello Kerry,

Hope you are well.. and remembering you this month especially. [my late son’s D-Day Jan. 13th, B-Day Jan. 25th.]

My neighbour's son is doing well after rehabilitation.. but found his cousin is addicted and seeking help. Do you by any chance have the web site with the place in Italy??? Perhaps that is the best one yet. The problem in finding help is that most of the facilities are geered towards the younger generation.. which is wonderful. But the people in their 30s are looking for places with more difficulty.. and also the waiting is hard on them..

Chris went to the funeral of his friend. He was taken with how lovely his family is.. and also that many of the friends didn't attend. He was especially touched by his mother.. The friend was 28 years.. and a student at Capilano College, top of the class and had only two more courses to complete to get his degree.. meth got hold of him, and he just couldn't let it go and finally was another victim of this evil thing. I am glad to see the communities battling the further spread of this...unfortunately, we didn't know the effects of it before... I am glad they do now and are fighting it. I didn't say anything to Chris as I think that the events speak for themselves.

love,

Cathy

It is so sad to hear about such bright, vibrant, promising young people like this succumbing to this horrid drug, crystal meth, including Chris, Cathy’s son who is in recovery himself (see earlier letter’s by Cathy). The website she referred to is that of SanPatrignano. They have been featured on Knowledge Network TV several times. It is worth a look see of the following link. – K
